Online Gifts: We will issue a 2024 tax receipt for online gifts submitted by Dec. 31, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST). Gifts made online after 11:59 p.m. EST will be issued a 2025 tax receipt. To make your gift online, click here.

Mailed-in checks: Mailed-in checks must be postmarked by Dec. 31, 2024, AND the check must be dated on or before Dec. 31, 2024.

Dress for success empowers students with professional attire

Through the program, students are able to purchase business attire, allowing them to present themselves with confidence at job interviews, meetings, conferences, and career fairs.

THE MICHAEL HAIRSTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP HONORS SSU ART STUDENT

Gary and Marilyn Hairston started the Michael Hairston Memorial Scholarship 25 years ago to honor their late son and support potential SSU students from Portsmouth High School.

PlANTING SEEDS THROUGH THE CAMPUS BEAUTIFICATION FUND

Dr. James and Dr. Ann Chapman established the fund in 1998 to finance the planting of trees and support landscaping efforts around Shawnee State University’s campus.

When you give to one of our six Pillar Funds, you directly impact the education and experience for students at Shawnee State University.

When you give to The Shawnee Fund, you help us meet our highest and most pressing priorities. The Shawnee Fund is unrestricted, meaning your gift can be put to use immediately to help meet the needs of SSU students.

Join the Bear Club.

The Bear Club offers support for over 300 varsity SSU athletes in 22 different sports.

Join the President’s Club.

When you give a gift of $10,000 or more, you become a member of the SSU President’s Club. These donors help Shawnee State grow to meet the needs of the region and strengthen education for generations to come.

Join the Patron Club.

Support artists, performers, and students by donating to the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts.

The Friends of Shawnee.

The Friends of Shawnee Scholarship awards funding to SSU students in need of financial assistance to cover tuition costs. In 2022-2023 the Friends of Shawnee awarded over $31,000 in support to more than 30 SSU students,

All three colleges within SSU have unique needs supported by the Dean’s Funds.
