A 1999 graduate of Shawnee State University, Shanen Zimmerman was a four-year member of the SSU Baseball team. Zimmerman holds the all-time record for triples (15) and career stolen bases (64), while also ranking second in all-time career runs scored (170), second in batting average for a single season (.458), and a tied record for single season triples (7).

After graduation, Zimmerman became an assistant coach of the Bears, serving in that role during the Bears’ run in the NAIA World Series tournament where they finished in 5th place.

The Shanen Zimmerman Memorial Scholarship provides the opportunity for Zimmerman’s legacy, as a player and a coach, to continue at Shawnee State University.
